I went to Zero Gravity with the adventure group tonight. They have bungee jumping and 4 other thrill ride type things. Bungee jumping was probably the least scary of all of them. The scariest was definitely the freefall into a net. You start out hanging with your face toward the sky and then they let you go and you fall backwards, and it is terrifying. It's so unnatural and wrong. Your body has all of these instincts to fight against that sort of thing. The fourth thing we did was this:

At the top of this thing (165 ft up), I started thinking, "Why on earth am I doing this? Why am I risking my life? I want to live. Please don't let me die. I don't want to die doing something idiotic like this." I guess that's why you have to do stupid things like this every once in a while, to remind yourself of how important your life is to you.
I am putting videos of bungee and freefall on myspace. If you want to watch me being a moron. |

So skydiving was wow. I can't explain it. The free falling part happened so fast, and I was kind of out of it because all the blood was cut off to my arms and legs from the harness and crouching in the plane for 20 minutes, then with all the wind in my face I really thought I was going to pass out. I was so nervous about it, but not the height or the falling thing, just worrying about doing something wrong and not knowing what to expect. I want to do it one more time and I think I will be able to just enjoy it and feel everything without the anxiety. I knew I was going to have problems landing and I did. For one, the wind was really bad so we kind of dropped straight down instead of gliding in like everyone else. He told me to lift my legs but they were still pretty numb and I am not the most athletic person, so I landed with my feet underneath my butt and sprained my ankle. I thought I had broken a bone in my foot, but it's just a deep tissue bruise. I seriously can't walk on it, but I don't want to pay $40 for some crutches, so right now I am mostly crawling to the bathroom and whining to Nick to bring me stuff. Mike is loaning me one crutch today. Anyway, that was number one on my bucket list, so now I need a new one! Next week we are supposed to go bungee jumping, but I don't know if my ankle will be ready. I highly recommend meetup.com. I am in like 5 groups now, and I have met some really nice interesting people. They have a group for EVERYTHING. One of the girls I met at skydiving works for the Barney show helping get the characters into their costumes. Her title is dinosaur wrangler. How cool is that? |

| | aggravated | ] | I've been getting crimewatch emails from the neighborhood association, which are totally making me paranoid. But there have been several robberies in our square mile lately, and a group is stealing mail. Well, I haven't gotten any mail in the past couple of days, and I was expecting some stuff. Nick is mocking me because I've been turning on the outside lights at night, but don't most people do that anyway? Also, I sent a letter from the post office on Wednesday and it hasn't gotten to Arlington yet. What the hell, USPS?? |

| | sore | ] | We learned a lot from our first soccer game... We did pretty well the first half. It was tied at halftime, but we all got tired and they ended up beating us by 6 goals :) I think we figured out that we need to play zones instead of picking a person and chasing them around. Anyway, it was pretty fun. I am so sore, though. I definitely need to work out more before the next game. Actually, I'm missing the next game, but the game after that. It turns out the soccer center serves beer, so we just hung out there after the game and had a lot of fun. I really like our team. I hope we all become friends. We played flipcup against another team and kicked their butts. We actually drank the last of the beer, but I guess not much was left when we got there. I think we only had 3 pitchers. |

My car has been acting up a lot lately, so I've been thinking about my car a lot lately. The first time I drove it was home from high school graduation. It has 150,000 miles now. It seems like it got old so fast. It has several big door dings from parking on campus, one big dent from when I backed into my mom's new car, and one big dent from when I backed into a tree, but the inside is still pretty nice and clean. I'm kind of amazed I have driven it 150,000 miles and never gotten in a serious accident. It has been to Niagara Falls, Minneapolis, Atlanta, New Orleans, New Mexico... all over. Dozens of trips between Dallas and Tulsa, Dallas and Norman, Norman and Tulsa. I drive it an hour and a half round trip every day. I never thought of it as a he or she or named it like some people do with their cars. Still, it makes me sad to watch it slowly fall apart. We used to always take my car because it was the most reliable, but now I usually try to take someone else's car. Here's a picture of us leaving our wedding in it.

One fun thing about becoming a vegetarian is that I get to explore the exciting world of fake meat! Haha. I vaguely remember trying some when I was a vegetarian in high school, but I can't really remember it. I'm sure they have made great advances since then. Tonight I got some fake hotdogs and hamburgers. We'll see how that goes. I can't decide if I want to keep eating seafood. I did have a tuna sandwich the other day because my other choices were all fried. It's really hard to find decent vegetarian stuff at fast food places. Taco Bell has bean stuff... At Sonic and Jack in the Box I can get breakfast all day (eggs). KFC has vegetables... Quiznos has a good veggie sandwich... Why am I listing this? |

| | anxious | ] | I couldn't drag myself out of bed early any other time in the past 2 weeks, so I went to vote at 7:00 this morning. The parking lot was almost full! Yay. Luckily the line went super fast. The guy directing people was hilarious. I have never heard someone enunciate so well. He was like, "Dallas Coun-ty Vo-ters?" The polling people are hardcore this year. It wasn't just two 104-year-old ladies who are going so slow you're pretty sure they just died. They had like 12 employees, 6 lines. Some bitch cut in front of me, but that's okay. If people are excited to vote, I'm happy. I voted for a Republican, I think for the first time... The Republican sheriff candidate was endorsed by the police union, so I figured I should vote for him. I think my grandma would be disappointed in me either way. I actually got a little teary-eyed as I was walking out. This is such a historic, important election. I hope it all works out. I will be on pins and needles until Tuesday night. I hope nobody pulls any shit.
Edit: I just noticed that this is "Undead journal" today. Hahaha. |

I haven't had a minute to just surf the internet or watch TV in a couple of weeks, so I'm kind of behind on people's journals and my own. |

| | amused | ] | Last night one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen happened. We were playing giant Jenga at Barcadia on Henderson. The bricks are like a foot long and 4 inches wide, so our tower was on top of a table and then about as high as my head. It looks like it was definitely going to fall on the next turn, no matter which brick was taken. We were yelling at Gene (Jennifer's boyfriend) to just rip one out as fast as he could, and he actually did it! He ripped one out of the middle and threw it across the patio in one fluid motion. It hit the giant Jenga tower next to us, knocking it down, and then continued flying across the patio and hit one of the girls with us (she was fine). I think the funniest thing was that our tower stayed up for like 2 seconds, long enough for us all to think it had worked, and then fell down. |

In a country that's going to hell in a hand basket, I will focus on something positive. Lena Headey is the most beautiful woman in the world. I think she is perfection. And we both have bird tattoos on our backs! That is where the similarities end :)
